Institute for Occupational Medicine
The Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology and Net Teaching Unit is part of the Institute and Outpatient Clinic for Occupational, Social and Environmental Medicine of the University Hospital of Munich (LMU). The staff of the unit currently consists of 10 members (physicians, epidemiologists, statisticians, etc.) and several student assistants; so the unit is working on a large number of research activities. The Institute and Outpatient Clinic for Occupational, Social and Environmental Medicine of Munich is one of the "WHO Collaborating Centres " in Occupational Epidemiology, one of the founders of the Center for International Health (CIHLMU) and has many international contacts.
Center for International Health (CIHLMU)
On the 9th of June of 2009, the Center for International Health of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universät München (CIHLMU) was selected as one of five Centers of Excellence for Development Cooperation by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The Center is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for a five year period. Within LMU, four faculties and twelve institutes are involved. They work together with more than 50 universities and ministries worldwide, with the World Health Organization and other institutions involved in the field of safety and health.
